Switching guide
Moving from Lifesum
without losing your history
Your weight trend and your workouts come with you. Your food diary does not, and no app in this category can move it. The useful part of this page is the one step you have to take before you delete Lifesum.
Do this before you uninstall
Open Lifesum and check that it has been writing your weight to Apple Health, or Health Connect on Android. If it has, your entire weight history survives the switch, because Nutrify reads it back from the platform. If it has not, turn the sync on and let it run once.
This is the only step here that cannot be undone later. Once the app is gone, so is anything it never handed to the platform.
The honest inventory
What comes with you, and what does not
Comes with you
Weight history
Through Apple Health or Health Connect, if your old app was writing weight there. Nutrify reads it back, so your trend line survives the switch.
Workouts and exercise
Same route. Anything already in Apple Health or Health Connect - including whatever Garmin, Fitbit or Strava put there - shows up in Nutrify.
Water intake
Also synced through the health platform, if your old app recorded it there.
Steps, distance and flights climbed
These come from the phone itself, not from any app, so they were never at risk.
Does not
Your food diary
No calorie tracker shares logged meals with another one, and Nutrify has no importer. This is the real cost of switching and we are not going to dress it up.
Saved and custom foods
These rebuild as you log. Most people are back to one-tap logging for their regular meals inside a week, because the foods you eat repeatedly are few.
Streaks and badges
They start again. Nothing anyone can do about that.
Custom recipes
Not directly - but if the recipe exists online, Recipe Import will rebuild it from the URL in a few seconds rather than re-typing the ingredients.
Context
Why people are leaving Lifesum
- AI photo and voice logging both require Premium.
- Several features are tied to specific diet plans rather than available generally.
- The free tier shows ads.

The plan
Your first week
- 1
Before you uninstall
Open your old app and confirm it has been syncing weight to Apple Health or Health Connect. If it has not, turn it on and let it sync once. This is the only step that is irreversible if you skip it.
- 2
Day one
Install Nutrify, set your goal, and connect Apple Health or Health Connect on the Health Sync screen. Your weight history and workouts appear straight away.
- 3
Days one to three
Photograph your meals instead of searching for them. There is nothing to rebuild first, because the AI reads the plate rather than a list of saved foods.
- 4
Days three to seven
Save the meals you eat repeatedly to My Library as you go, and import any recipes you rely on from their URLs. By the end of the week your regulars are one tap again.
- 5
After the first week
Switch on any of the 37 extra nutrients you care about, and set up fasting, water or supplements if you were running separate apps for those.
The other side of it
What you give up by leaving Lifesum
Every comparison page on the internet skips this section. If none of the following matters to you, switch. If one of them is the reason you track at all, stay where you are - we would rather you kept using the right tool than churned out of Nutrify in a month.
- Lifesum's design, which is genuinely excellent.
- Its structured diet plans and recipe programmes.
- A free tier.
Ready when you are
Free to download on iOS and Android. Every feature is open for the trial, and after that it is one subscription at $34.99 a year with nothing gated feature by feature.
