Saturated Fats
Definition
Saturated fats are a type of fat found in various food sources, often considered less healthy than unsaturated fats because they can raise cholesterol levels and increase the risk of heart disease.

Saturated fats are triglycerides that contain only saturated fatty acids. These fats have no double bonds between the individual carbon atoms of the fatty acid chain, meaning the chain is fully 'saturated' with hydrogen atoms. Found in animal fats and some vegetable oils, these fats remain solid at room temperature.
