Food intolerance is a detrimental reaction, often delayed, to a food, beverage, or food additive. Unlike food allergies, food intolerances do not involve the immune system and primarily affect the digestive system by causing symptoms like gas, cramps, or diarrhea due to the body’s inability to properly digest or metabolize certain components of food.
