Definition
Acute inflammation is the body's immediate response to harmful stimuli, such as infections or injuries, characterized by redness, swelling, and sometimes pain.

Acute inflammation is a physiological process in which the immune system responds to harmful pathogens, damaged cells, or irritants by increasing blood flow to the affected tissues, recruiting immune cells, and releasing cytokines and other inflammatory mediators. This response is typically short-lived and aims to eliminate the initial cause of cell injury, clear out necrotic cells and tissues, and initiate tissue repair.
